Why do I feel fearful? How can I overcome that?

                                   Oh My God !!
                    Ohhhh Myyyyyyyyyyy Godddddddddddd!!
Have you ever felt like this?

A feeling of insecurity is a common problem. Today we find ourselves going into a wide variety of emotions some are healthy and others are unhealthy.
Our emotions are governed by our thoughts, the quality of thoughts we live with and the quality of thoughts we received from the people around us. Generally, a metropolitan city is full of fearful and frightened people. So we find people addicted to various kinds of drugs or food or music or noise.

Have you ever been able to sit peacefully for some time?
No, the moment you try to sit, thoughts come in and mostly the thoughts are fearful for individuals who have been reared or grown up in families, where decision making was delayed due to fear.

So what is fear?
Wikipedia answers fear as"Fear is a feeling induced by perceived danger or threat that occurs in certain types of organisms, which causes a change in metabolic and organ functions and ultimately a change in behavior, such as fleeing, hiding, or freezing from perceived traumatic events. ... Irrational fear is called a phobia."

Which chakra is affected when we fear?

Mooladhara or Base chakra i.e. the fundamental red energy center at the base of our spine is affected if we grow up in fear. Basically, we find most of the people dealing with the fear of sex. This is commonly found in young girls or women who were raised in houses where sexual knowledge was not imparted in a healthy way or where it was felt that sex is bad.
The same problem can be seen in young boys or men who do not understand the physical relationship and its importance. Fearful thoughts actually create more trouble in the endocrine system thus leading to the loss of healthy life and healthy body cycles.

So, how can I overcome my fears?
Overcoming fear is the most important aspect. As it is just a thought and as madam Louis L.Hay said
"It's just a thought and it can be changed." So, the most important aspect about the fearful thought is that it can be changed by changing our choices. The choices can only be changed if we know the "POWER OF CHOICE".
There are plenty of resources available online, which can be used in overcoming fear. A very effective meditation commentary has been given by meditative mind for healing Mooladhar chakra. The link follows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTqktSAmG30&t=118s

If you don't like to hear words, then you can simply listen to the Mooladhar frequency music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGpIckVEL9A&t=530s

If you love doing affirmations or a practitioner of Mantra yoga, then you can listen to Mooladhara chakra affirmations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ph5lKkhVcHo.

All the best for your new spiritual journey!!

How to improve your sleep quality?

It has always been thought that sleep is a random process and we all want that the moment we lie down in bed, we doze off.
But, is it really possible in this world? where we are constantly moving? and where we have an active brain in while we are sleeping?

Well, this brings us to following questions
1.  Is sleep and active process or a passive process?
Ans. Sleep is an active process and requires your involvement and attention like any other activity. The quality of sleep is maintained only by maintaining the quality of your life each day. Thus, during the day short periods of relaxation is needed so that at the end of the day you can get a good night sleep.

2. Do we really need to get our bodies and minds exhausted to sleep?
Ans. No, this a wrong belief that we have learned in this age of technology, yes if you want a conscious good quality sleep, then you can get it, just by relaxing your mind. This can come up if you get involved in meditation and life equally. That does not mean to meditate daily for an hour or more but just sitting quietly for 15 minutes 2-3 times during the day, you can get your mind relaxed and give it positive affirmations that "I allow myself to sleep".

3. Can I check my emails, phones, pagers etc before I go to bed?
Ans. No, it is not acceptable to the brain cells. It has been found out that the blue rays that emerge from these digital gadgets, can actually capture the attention of your brain and signal it, that it is still the time to work. So, the body has 5 stages of sleep, where it gets relaxed but the first 30 minutes are almost awake as it is a natural process for the body to feel relaxed and then go to sleep.

So, this brings us to the next phase of understanding our sleep cycle:
Our sleep quality is divided into two phases (both the phases are important for the healthy restorative process of our body)
1. REM (Rapid Eye Moment) sleep  cycle
2. NREM sleep (Non-Rapid Eye Moment) sleep cycle

Rapid Eye Moment- It includes the first 4 stages out of the 5 stages defined by researchers.

NREM (Non- Rapid Eye Moment)- It is the last phase of the sleep cycle, where we get dreams and deep relaxation if no dreams. often, you can observe it in someone who is in deep sleep, if the eyeballs are moving under the eyelid. This is stage 5.

How can you improve the sleep quality?
1. Relax your mind: This involves you to read and listen to good stuff. Like listening to a piece of good relaxation music, Tibetan bowl music, forest sounds, light relaxation music or affirmations by Louis L.Hay or Joseph Stephenson.

2. Looking at beautiful scenery or simply a visualization of a beautiful place you visited.
3. Going for a morning walk or jog or doing yoga in nature: This will tell your brain to become active and start the process of the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), thus your brain and body will become active again. So the body will train itself for the next activity. Once, the day is about to end the SCN will signal the body to close or shut down the process so your body will start its preparation to sleep.
4. Place red lights in your room, turn them on before you sleep: The red light will help in the production of melatonin so that you are able to sleep and the mind knows that it is the time to relax.
5. Doing Nadi shodan Pranayam: This pranayama has been the most effective pranayama to give a feeling of relaxation to the body and mind. Thus, if you have been feeling insomniac for a past couple of days, then you can relax by simply practicing this pranayama.

Thus, after knowing that sleeping is an active restorative process, I hope all of you would take care of your sleep cycle like you take care of your business.

The Power of Positive Thinking

Positive thinking is careful selection of the thoughts to optimize your performance to reach your goals. It a "WAY OF LIFE" or it is an "ATTITUDE".

Often when we come across difficult situations in our lives, either we want to quit or we are looking for some help or a guide, but with this book "The Power of Positive Thinking", you can actually create a difference in your life.

It is not possible to see the visible differences outside within a day but you can actually create a difference in your inner system, i.e. your mind and body. The techniques that are given in this book are simple and effective.

Basically, you can find the best way by being "CALM" and "PEACEFUL". One of the best quotes that can be found in this book is copied from the BIBLE, which says "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee". " (Isaiah 26:3).

The writer Norman Vincent Peale, although was not aware of the Mantra yoga practice, he advocates that by simple repetition of the statements that bring positivity in your life, you can create miracles. The same aspect was used by our sages in the early ages when they used to repeat the mantra "OM NAMO SHIVAY" or any other mantra.

But, How can you achieve a goal, which is not visualized?

So it is important that you visualize a goal for your self. And use the energy of your "DHYAN" in achieving your goals. Also, from my personal experience, I have found out that stop fuming and fretting, when you start working with positive thinking books or any other self-help manual.

It is equally important to be present and feel a presence in our bodies, while we are trying to bring a difference in our lives. Often, we feel so lost in the motive, that we are constantly comparing our present moment, with the goal, thus we end up frustrated.

So, basically, in order to access "The Power Of Positive Thinking," you need to access our inner power, the power which can actually create a difference. The power of faith and trust, this can be learned by following the summary which I will be publishing in my blog to come, in the next few days. Please read and create a difference in your life.

// Thank You for reading my blog and sparing some moments of your life to create a positive impact on my life ;-) //

Inner realization: Life is cyclic in nature

It has been 29 years of being alive and incarnation in the human form, that suddenly from within you actually find the answers to all the questions you can ever ask.
It was one of those nights when things were going well, in a direction but the end could not be seen. In one of Louis L.Hay's lecture, I heard that we are conscious energies incarnated in human form to have a human experience. It makes sense to me now.
It is only human who has the mind to think and therefore creates all sort's of hurdles in the natural course of action.
Do we ever find that the sun has not come up at its time, and do we ever find that evening has preceded afternoon, then why do we think so much that we end up eating our own joys and pleasures.
It appears to me that everything has a little purpose and a sudden joy to it, and with every individual, you appreciate you have a life and a timespan to share. Then why do we end up eating the joy element by thinking about the future or the past?
We, humans, have a consciousness that has everything ingrained in it. Then why do we wait to make something perfect?
This realization appeared when I was sitting on a park bench and I found out that, the park bench is itself there and I come and do daily, do the work and thinking that I am supposed to do and then sit back and relax. This was happening daily. Then one day, my mind was disturbed with the thought of perfection and rightness, and then this thought came from within "Life is cyclic in nature".
This appears true as all the months repeat, the year and the time clock repeats. Now, the joy factor is only our hearts, if we choose to be joys, good for our body and if we choose to be disturbed, then again it is good for us.
Putting your life to the speculations and calculations of the human mind will only create bafflement when the liberating thought is there that the life is cyclic and I am the in charge of my life. But again the interest and joy, boredom and sadness is your personal choice.
